Introduction

Superfamily Criconematoidea. Labial region poorly developed. Lip region represented by a labial disk often with four submedian lobes. Pro-metacorpus generally amalgamated, postcorpus pyriform and clearly off-set from intestine, no overlap (exception Sphaeronema whittoni). Females with single anteriorly directed genital branch with no post uterine extension. Columned uterus not defined. Males with nonfunctional feeding apparatus, rarely with caudal alae. Phasmids absent, deirids mostly absent. (from Maggenti et al. 1987). top
