Rudd were reported from Lake Ogallala , Platte River drainage, near
Ogallala in Nebraska in 1993 or 1994. In addition to Lake Ogallala, the
Rudd recently has been recorded from other reservoirs in the western two-thirds
of the state including Calamus, Sherman, and Sutherland, and possibly others.
Bait bucket release seems to be the primary mechanism by which Rudd have
gained access into open waters.
