Genus Paraplectonema

Syn.: Paraplectus Filipjev, 1930 nec Raffray,

Definition: Plectinae. Closely related to Plectus
but with the spiral amphids in a very forward position on the body, immediately
behind lips; posterior tuboid region of stoma very narrow, oesophageal
bulb weak and without valve apparatus, cuticle of head forming a peribuccal
thickening.
Type species: Paraplectonema pedunculata (Hofmanner, 1913) Strand,
