insecticides and entomopathogenic nematodes in controlling some insect
pests on fruit and vegetable crops”. Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams
University, 1999.
- B.Sc., Pesticides, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University, 1994.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
I am interested in the survey, Taxonomy and mass production of
entomopathogenic nematodes. I am also interested in research related
to
“Interaction between Insecticides and entomopathogenic Nematode for
controlling insect in IPM programs”. I am also interested in the use
of
personal computers in scientific writing (word processing), graphics
and
statistical analysis and already used it in my research.
EXPERIENCE:
1-Assistant researcher, January, 1993 – October, 1995, University of
Cairo, a National Agriculture Researh Project- NARP Egyptian- American
collaborative project No. H-035 on: "Genetic engineering of
entomopathogenic nematodes for thermotolerance".
2-Attended a meeting in Menoufaya University, Egypt from 18 to 22
December, 1994. Awarded at the Second International Symposium of the
society of the Afro-Asian Society of Nematologists.
3-A work visit from work, March 25, - April 7, 1996, to the United Arab
Emirates (UAE) and Sultanate of Oman.
4-Visiting scientist, May 2 - 19, 1999, to the Lab. of Prof. Randy
Gaugler, Department of Entomology, Rutgers University, New Jersey,
USA,
During this visit, we discussed the possibility of using
entomopathogenic nematodes as biocontrol agents against both Egyptian
and American insect pests and the tools of molecular biology used to
enhance some beneficial traits in entomopathogenic nematodes.
5- Attended the Society Of Nematologists (SON) meeting in Monterey,
California, USA from 7th to 18th of July, 1999 the annual meeting for
Society of Nematolog followed by a visit to the University of
California, Riverside, USA and San Diego, California.
6- work as an agriculture engineer at El-Shiaty Group company from
November, 1995 – March, 1996, at the scientific office.
7- Work as assistant researcher at the project of “Mass production and
field application of entomopathogenic nematodes as biocontrol agents
of
insect borers of fruit trees” at Nematology Research Center, Faculty
of
Agriculture, University of Cairo from April, 1996 until the present
time.
